Staying Inspired
You’re here, reading this, so I’m going to assume that we’re enough alike that this might work for you too.
This should come as no surprise, but one of the things I do to stay inspired and motivated to write—especially right now when I’d really like to be outside in the beautiful weather taking a walk—is learn.
Take a craft class.
Read a craft book.
One chapter or module (or blog post) a day is often enough, and so not that time consuming.
Pick something new, revisit something you thought you already learned, it doesn’t matter. You’ll inevitably become aware of some new-to-you craft technique or get a new insight into one you’re already familiar with that you’ll then see executed on the page in the next novel you read and that you’ll then want to try for yourself.
In your next writing session.
Which you’ll now be excited to show up for.
Bonus if you can get that craft book or class in an audible version, because then you can learn, get inspired, and still be out in the sun…

WWT Tool Kit Craft Card
As mentioned before, I’m making a deck of craft cards to quickly remind myself of techniques while also having a convenient place to keep track of elements like character, conflict, and theme specific to each story. This week’s card is a reminder to myself about the basics.
Thank you for reading!
I hope this helped you, and I hope your writing goes well this week.
Keep at it,
Megan
